Keys sheriff’s deputy charged with DUI
A deputy for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with property damage early Saturday after he was involved in an accident at the 9-mile marker on the northbound side of the Overseas Highway, police reported.
Florida Highway Patrol arrested Jon Doughtry, 23, in the early morning hours. He was booked into jail and released shortly after noon following a first appearance hearing.
The Monroe Sheriff’s Office suspended Doughtry without pay pending a review of his case, reported a spokeswoman for the agency. The sheriff’s office arrest log indicates that Doughtry is a court deputy in Key West.
