Long-distance sex offender caught in the Keys

A sex offender was captured in Islamorada on Tuesday and will be returned to Oregon to face further charges.

Stephan Brewer, 49, was wanted in Oregon for violating his parole because he failed to register as a sexual offender when he was released from prison, said Monroe County SHeriff’s spokeswoman Becky Herrin.

He was taken into custody at a convenience store at mile marker 81 in the Keys.
