A man on the run from Keys law enforcers left behind his small child in his truck, authorities said Thursday.
Rob Moore first took officers on a short chase on U.S. 1 in Key West to Boca Chica, then abandoned his truck and ran into the bushes, said Monroe County sheriff’s spokeswoman Becky Herrin.
Monroe deputies found a child in the car but lost sight of Moore, she said.
Th child, whose age was not released, was reunited with his mother, who first called Key West police asking them to find her son and husband.

“She said she hadn’t heard from him since between 5 and 5:30 p.m.,” Herrin said. “She said he’d never done that before and she was worried.”
Moore faces charges of driving with a suspended license, fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers and child endangerment.
