Keys inmate accused of quieting snoring cellmate with mesh bag on head

A Monroe County inmate was so irked by a cellmate’s sonorous snoring that he put a mesh bag over his head looking for silence.

There was chaos instead.

Saturday’s drama ended when a guard told a deputy about cries for help coming from one of the cells, according to KeysInfoNet. When Deputy Seth Hopp went to the cell, he saw inmate David Murillo “sitting on top of” cellmate David Reedy.

Reedy told the deputy he awoke to find a a bag around his neck before getting into a struggle with Murillo and then crying out for help.

Murillo, 30, has been at the Monroe County Jail since May on burglary and criminal mischief charges.

Reedy, 61, was jailed after being accused of violating sex-offender registration requirements. After the bag was removed, he was treated at the jail’s medical unit.
