A U.S. Coast Guard aircrew rescued two people late Wednesday after their boat capsized and sank 256 miles west of Key West.
Coast Guard spokesperson Mark Barney could not indicate what time the incident took place, nor the age or sex of the people who were rescued. Barney said one of the two survivors is an American. Both were transferred to Key West International Airport, where local emergency medical services were waiting.
Barney said no major injuries were reported.
The boat was a Hawaii Five-1 fishing vessel.
