Police: Homeless man found dead in Marathon resort pool
A homeless man may have drowned in the pool of a Marathon resort Tuesday, according to Monroe County sheriff’s detectives.
Police were called to Banana Bay Resort at noon after an employee of the resort spotted a body at the bottom of the deep end of the pool.
The deputy and two others pulled Michael Cosgrove, 51, out of the water and began CPR.
He died at Fishermen’s Hospital.
Cosgrove’s van, which he reportedly lived in, was found in the parking lot of the resort, police said.
Authorities will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
