Three young children spent the night alone in their Tavernier house with the bodies of their parents, who were shot to death some time Thursday night.
The children spent the better part of Friday with the bodies before a neighbor noticed them in their yard around 2 p.m. The children are ages 3, 4 and 8.
The children told the neighbor their parents were in the house, dead, said Deputy Becky Herrin, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office's spokeswoman.
