The vessel crashed into the Harris Gap Channel Bridge on Sugarloaf Key around 3:20 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. Two people were on board.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the crash.

It happened in the same location a Chevy pickup truck drove off U.S. 1 into the water around 11 a.m. on Saturday. All three people in the truck escaped with minor injuries. The sheriff’s office said the driver may have fallen asleep.
