A Florida City man is behind bars after deputies say he stole a taxi cab in the Florida Keys over the weekend.

Misael Bocio, 43, took the cab from the 5500 block of the Overseas Highway in the Middle Keys city of Marathon around 11 a.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office. The door was unlocked and the keys were inside the car, sheriff’s office spokesman Adam Linhardt said.

Deputies pulled over Bocio in Islamorada after the taxi was seen driving erratically, per Linhardt. Bocio is a habitual offender, Linhardt added, and was recently released from prison where he was serving time for robbery with a firearm, false imprisonment and burglary with assault.

As of Monday, Bocio was being held in county jail on an $80,000 bond on grand theft auto charges and driving with a suspended license.
