Nine Cubans arrive in Key West on a migrant boat, Border Patrol says
A makeshift migrant boat carrying nine people from Cuba arrived in Key West on Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.
Around 6 a.m., the vessel, made of steel barrels for its hull, arrived at Truman Annex, said Adam Hoffner, assistant chief patrol agent for the Border Patrol’s Miami sector.
Hoffner said there were six men and three women in the group. Two were treated for minor injuries at Lower Keys Medical Center.
Jeffrey Dinise, Miami sector’s chief patrol agent, noted in a statement on X they are being processed for deportation.
