A woman visiting from Tallahassee died while scuba diving off the Florida Keys on Tuesday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman, 56-year-old Andrea Shultz, was diving with a commercial scuba vessel at Molasses Reef off Key Largo shortly after 10 a.m. when she was found unconscious in the water, said Adam Linhardt, sheriff’s office spokesman.

Shultz died on the way into shore despite people on the dive boat performing CPR en route, Linhardt added.

Autopsy results are pending from the Monroe County Medical Examiner, but Linhardt noted detectives do not suspect foul play.
