Man dies while snorkeling near John Pennekamp State Park
A 77-year-old man vacationing in the Keys from Morris, Illinois, died Tuesday as he snorkeled offshore near John Pennekamp State Park.
Domingo Setrini’s wife told first responders that her husband had been in the water about 10 minutes when employees on the dive boat Snorkel Express saw the man floating face down in the water.
The crew pulled Sentrini back on the boat and CPR was performed. As soon as everyone was back on the boat it returned to shore where paramedics were waiting.
Sentrini was taken to Mariner’s Hospital where he died.
