Update: The U.S. Coast Guard said Tuesday that the search for missing 41-year-old boater Erik Rundle had been suspended. The Coast Guard and partner agencies searched more than 3,245 square miles, an area larger than Delaware.

A search is underway for a man who fell from a small inflatable boat Saturday night off the Lower Keys, according to authorities.

Erik Rundle was last seen around sunset on the capsized boat in the Man of War Harbor — located west of Fleming Key, the U.S. Coast Guard said on Twitter.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the search and rescue operation of the man who they believe is around 40-years-old.

“We are assisting the U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in trying to locate him,” sheriff’s spokesman Adam Linhardt said Sunday afternoon.

Anyone with information about Rundle’s whereabouts is asked to call the Coast Guard at 305-292-8727.
