A 71-year-old Keys man had child porn on his homemade computer, police said
A 71-year-old Florida Keys man was jailed Wednesday after police said they found six images of naked underage teens on his homemade desktop computer.
Alfred Clarke Neumann, of Sugarloaf Key, was arrested on a felony charge of possession of child pornography after agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement searched his home on Loggerhead Lane at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Neumann said he uses BitTorrent, which is used for peer-to-peer sharing, and looks at porn on websites such as Pornhub, police said.
“Neumann admitted that some of the pornography that he had seen from his computer may have been child pornography due to the age of the child,” according to the arrest report.
Police said Neumann is aware that child pornography is anything depicting teens under age 18.
The images FDLE agents found were of girls posing nude, the report states.
FDLE began an investigation into the sharing of child pornography using the BitTorrent application in August 2019. They said they found several downloads of illegal images linked to an Internet Provider address that belongs to Neumann.
“The IP address was also linked to a cyber tip involving an image containing child pornography,” FDLE agents said.
Neumann’s remained at the Stock Island Detention Center on Thursday without bond.
