Motorcycle crash on 7-mile bridge in Florida Keys causes heavy traffic delays
A crash between a motorcycle and another vehicle on the Seven Mile Bridge backed up already-heavy holiday traffic in the Florida Keys Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. at mile marker 45.5 on the north end of the bridge, which connects the city of Marathon in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys.
At least one person was injured and flown by helicopter ambulance to Jackson South Medical Center in Kendall, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Adam Linhardt said.
The agency released a statement warning drivers that the crash could cause heavy delays on both the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 1.
This report will be updated as more information becomes available.
