A man wanted in the shooting death of his father has been taken into custody by Key West police. Patrick Clarke Jr., 22, is accused of shooting his father in Pasco County near Clearwater.
Responding to a be-on-the-lookout alert, off-duty Monroe County Sheriff's Office Deputy Spencer Curry spotted Clarke driving a black Cadillac on South Roosevelt Boulevard a little after 3 p.m. Monday and called 911, Key West police spokeswoman Alyson Crean said.
Key West police officers responded and stopped the vehicle in front of the La Brisa condominiums on South Roosevelt Boulevard. Because Clarke was listed as armed and dangerous, Clarke was taken out of the vehicle at gunpoint.
Crean said a rifle was found in the car but Clarke was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Monroe County Detention Center. Pasco County detectives will be arriving in Key West to process the vehicle and extradite Clarke.

According to Bay News 9, Clarke shot and killed his father, Patrick Sr., at the elder Clarke's home in Holiday around 10:45 a.m. Saturday. The station reported that Clarke Sr. neighbor Joanna Jhioto saw the fatal shooting unfold.
"I saw him get something out of his trunk," Jhioto said, according to Bay News 9. "It looked like a gun and then he ran into the house real quick and then I heard shots, and then I saw the young kid run out of the house and yell don't shoot."
