Watch as 150-pound turtle injured during Hurricane Irma is released back to the ocean

Drifter is finally home.

The 150-pound Loggerhead sea turtle — which was injured after Hurricane Irma — was released Thursday into the waters off Sunset Key near Key West.

The turtle was taken to Key West's Turtle Hospital after getting caught in fishing line that was part of the debris left behind by Irma, according to the Coast Guard.

On Thursday, the Coast Guard and Turtle Hospital personnel took Drifter on a 45-foot boat, lowered it into the water and watched as it swam off.

“All right, Drifter,” yelled a Coast Guard member as Drifter disappeared into the water.
