A man was struck and killed over the weekend by a car as he crossed an Oakland Park street, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
William Kovach, 60, was crossing East Oakland Park Boulevard from south to north in the crosswalk at about 1 a.m. Saturday morning when he was hit by a Chevy Camaro.
The Camaro, driven by Ada Napoli, 53, was traveling westbound in the far left lane and entered the intersection on a green traffic signal, according to BSO.
The driver’s side front bumper struck Kovach.

Kovach was taken to Broward Health Medical Center where he died, according to BSO.
While the investigation of the crash is still ongoing, BSO said that detectives do not believe impairment, excessive speed or mechanical malfunction played a role in the crash.
