Courtroom video of Dayonte Resiles’ escape released

Video released Wednesday morning shows Broward County Courthouse courtroom 4810’s reaction to murder suspect Dayonte Resiles jumping out of his jail jumpsuit and escaping July 15.

Heads turning to the camera’s left. A bailiff breaking into a sprint toward the camera. Confusion about what to do next.

The camera is pointed directly forward most of the time, so Resiles escape occurs outside the camera’s left view. Resiles is seen entering the courtroom in his jail-striped uniform with other inmates with hearings that morning.

Eight people have been arrested and charged with being accomplices in helping Resiles escape then elude capture for six days. Seven of those alleged helpers were charged with escape and accessory after the fact of a first-degree felony -- Francine Mesadieu, a Resiles cousin, was charged only with escape. Six of those alleged helpers were denied bond.

Paige Jackson, a pregnant 18-year-old, made her $50,000 bond and is now on house arrest with a GPS-tracked ankle bracelet. She’s not allowed calls or visits and can’t use a cell phone, similar to the no-contact restrictions on Resiles in Broward County Jail. Armonie Frankson-Dennis, 21, remains in Broward County jail on $150,000 bond after, police say, she drove Resiles around the day of his escape.

In Resiles’ six days of freedom, he traveled all of 50 miles, to the West Palm Beach Days Inn where he was captured.
