Two minors accused of smashing glass and stealing from businesses

Police arrested two minors they say burglarized a Pompano Beach business early Monday.

Because of a series of burglaries in the Pompano Beach area, a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy was already watching the Rent-A-Center, 11 S. Pompano Parkway in Pompano Beach, at about 2 a.m. when he saw the two minors throw a rock through the window and leave with three laptops, police said.

The burglars fled toward the Collier City area, followed by deputies, police dogs and aviation. They were taken into custody, and later confessed to several other burglaries in the area.

One of those burglaries was at Star Nails, 2663 W. Atlantic Blvd in Pompano Beach, on July 20, where the two burglars and three unidentified other people used a rock to smash the front glass door. They then stole four televisions and hundreds of dollars in cash.
