Two airboats collided in the Everglades Tuesday, sending two woman to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. near 35000 Everglades Parkway (MM 35 and I-75) in western Broward County.

According to the BSO, a private airboat and a biologist’s airboat from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission were involved in the crash. A woman from each boat was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

Miami Herald news partner CBS4 reported said the crash happened in a blind spot.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles told Miami Herald news partner CBS4 that the crash “appears to be just an accident.”

“There’s a lot of blind spots out there,” he told the station. “It’s just a freak thing.

The BSO Marine Unit is investigating the crash.
