Diner evacuated by Hollywood Police after “wanted murder suspect” runs in

A diner in Hollywood was evacuated Saturday after a “wanted murder suspect” ran inside.

Local10 reported that patrons of the Moonlite Diner, at 3500 Oakwood Blvd., had to walk out with their hands up after a man ran inside.

The man, who police told Local10 was a wanted murder suspected, ran into the diner after the car he was driving crashed.

The car crashed near Stirling road and I-95, said Florida Highway Patrol Broward spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky. The driver ran away and the passenger stayed inside the car, he said. No one was injured. The cause of the crash is unclear.

Hollywood Police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said FHP called Hollywood police and Broward Sheriff Office for backup after the crash.

Is isn’t clear if the wanted murder suspect is the escaped Broward suspect from Friday. He is still missing, per a Broward County Sheriff press conference Saturday afternoon.

Dayonte Resiles, a 21-year-old charged with murdering a woman in her Davie home, shed his shackles and escaped the Broward County courthouse Friday morning.
