Pit bull puppy who lost dog parents in house fire has now died
Sweet Pea, the 9-month-old pit bull puppy who suffered burns in a house fire that killed her parents, has died, according to a report from Herald news partner CBS4.
The burns over 75 percent of the dog’s body proved too much for her to overcome. Doctors from Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists and Sweet Pea’s owner decided to end her pain after she took a turn for the worse.
Sweet Pea got rescued from a fire Monday near the 1800 block of Southwest 22nd Street. Her parents, Popeye and Jasmine, didn’t escape the fire.
