Standoff in Broward with 5 children inside home ends with arrest

After holding five children and two women at a Lauderdale Lakes home, a suspect was taken into custody late Tuesday.

The drama played out at a house at 3510 NW 35th Ave. and ended before midnight., authorities said.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded to the standoff after the man made threats of suicide.
