Robber must have failed robbery school as he leaves empty-handed
A would-be armed robber’s attempt at hitting an Oakland Park Mobil gas station convenience store last Thursday quickly drooped lower than his saggy jeans.
To begin, he showed his face as he did his underwear — he donned sunglasses only after passing by the entrance’s surveillance cameras.
Then, he demanded money from the clerk, backing up the demand with drawn pistol encouragement. Despite the closeness of the firearm, the clerk still managed to escape into a back room.
Left alone with the cash register, the man found his efforts stymied by modern technology. The 5-11 criminal ran out, jumped into a light-colored Toyota and left 901 W. Oakland Park Blvd with only slightly more dignity (a smidge) than cash (none).
Anyone who recognizes this young man or with information is urged to call Robbery Detective Mohammad Razi at 954-321-4547.
