Broward cops charge two suspects in string of robberies

Runs for Slurpees, munchies and emergency beer might be safer in Broward County after authorities charged a pair suspected of a combined eight 7-Eleven robberies throughout the county.

Jaqwhon Wigley, 21, sits in jail on $100,000 bond on three counts of robbery with a firearm after being booked Tuesday. Wigley’s alleged accomplice in some of the acts, 22-year-old Olivia Mckenzie, was released on a $25,000 bond on one charge of robbery with a firearm, but the Broward Sheriff’s Office said she’ll be picked up again in connection with other robberies.

According to a Wilton Manors probable cause affidavit, Mckenzie turned herself in to Wilton Manors police Mar. 18 and admitted acting as a lookout for her partner during a March 15 7-Eleven robbery. Mckenzie’s partner used a machete to gain what she estimated as $200-$300 of which she claimed her take was $75.

Two of the Pompano robberies involved a duo and a machete. Two of them involved a man acting alone with a gun. There were also 7-Elevens victimized in Fort Lauderdale and Sunrise.
