Driver killed after slamming into Publix center in Hollywood
Hollywood police say David Paul-Lamour, a 24-year-old from Miramar, died in Monday’s predawn hours when his speeding Cadillac STS blasted through the back of the Publix on Young Circle in downtown Hollywood.
Paul-Lamour, not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from his car and died in the crash. Paul-Lamour’s passenger, 20-year-old Roxanna Villa, was wearing her seat belt and was taken to Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition.
Police determined that the Cadillac was heading west toward the back of the Young Circle strip mall, anchored for decades by Publix. Hitting the median at high speed launched the car, which crashed through the back of a storage area. It was towed away with a potato chip bag still in the scrunched grill. The pet grooming business next door remained unharmed.
