When security staff arrived Monday morning at Broward's North Regional Courthouse in Deerfield Beach they found a shattered window.

After reviewing security cameras, the security captain spotted images of a man — who carried a bat and only had one hand —entering the building Sunday morning, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The man tried to open several doors and then can be seen entering one room and staying there for a few minutes. He was spotted one more time and then not seen again.

The captain did a sweep of the building at 1600 W. Hillsboro Blvd. and called BSO Monday, but no one was found.

No items were reported missing.

The man, who is missing his left hand, had a beard and short hair, and was described as having a stocky build. He was also seen driving a silver Nissan Pathfinder.

Anyone with information is asked to call BSO Detective Andrew Cardarelli at 954-480-4300 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
