Police hope pictures of ‘distinctive sweater’ leads to man who robbed a customer in lot at Hollywood McDonald’s
The Hollywood Police Department is hoping clear surveillance pictures and a video of a man wearing a distinctive black and white bandana-print hooded sweater will help detectives solve a recent robbery outside a Hollywood McDonald’s.
According to police, Shan Lovarson, 62, walked out of McDonald’s, 2690 Stirling Rd., around 10 p.m. on Jan. 31 and headed to his car in the parking lot. As he went to open his door, a man — who had followed him from the restaurant — confronted him with a 10- to 12-inch kitchen knife, police said.
Lovarson managed to escape unharmed, but the man — described as 5-10, in his 20s with a medium build and full set of gold teeth — got away with an Acer laptop computer, a Polaroid smart phone and a Nikon camera.
In the video, the man, who was wearing a baggy sweatshirt with the hood up, can be seen going to the food counter, getting a drink, exiting the bathroom and then leaving after Lovarson. The video also captured the confrontation in the parking lot and shows the man grabbing something from Lovarson’s car and running away.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Hollywood Police Department at 954-764-4357 or 954-967-4411 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
