Car plows into Lauderhill home, pushing couple in bed through living room and into bathroom
A car plowed into a Lauderhill house early Thursday, pushing a sleeping couple's bed through the living room and into a bathroom, injuring them and their 14-year-old daughter who was in a nearby room.
The driver then took off running.
“They’re very lucky to be alive,” Lauderhill spokesman Jeff Levy said.
The three people in the house suffered minor injuries despite the major damage.
After the car went about 20 feet into the home on Northwest 33rd Avenue amd 16th Street around midnight, the driver bolted and has not yet been found. Investigators are at the house, which has been deemed uninhabitable.
