Wrong-way driver in West Delray kills pedestrian
A 72-year-old wrong-way driver collided into three cars in West Delray before striking and killing a pedestrian crossing the road, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Alan J. Ziperstein, of Delray Beach, was driving a 2015 BMW convertible when he plowed into oncoming traffic along Linton Boulevard at Jog Road, authorities said. He died in the crash.
The chain-collision happened about 10:25 p.m. Friday and involved a total of four vehicles and nine people; one other driver was critically injured.
