What’s open and closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving

Thursday is Thanksgiving. Here’s a list of what’s open and closed for the holiday and Friday:

Federal offices: Closed Thursday, open Friday.

State offices: Closed Thursday and Friday.

Miami-Dade and Broward county offices: Closed on both days.

Miami-Dade and Broward courts: Closed on both days.

Public schools: Closed on both days.

Post offices: Closed on Thursday, open on Friday.

Stock markets: Closed on Thursday, open until 1 p.m. Friday.

Banks: Most are closed Thursday, but open on Friday. Check with your bank for schedule.

Miami-Dade and Broward libraries: Closed on both days.

Tri-Rail: Weekend schedule on Thursday. Normal schedule on Friday.

Miami-Dade and Broward transit: Both counties will run on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving and a regular schedule on Friday.

Miami-Dade garbage collection: Normal schedule.

Broward garbage collection: No collection service on Thursday. In unincorporated areas, regularly scheduled collections resume on Friday. Check with your municipality for schedule.

Malls: Some stores and malls will open at varying times. Call or go online for mall or store schedules.
