A Palm Beach Gardens man was arrested Monday morning for driving under the influence and trying to bribe the deputy, offering him thousands of dollars for a free pass, The Palm Beach Post reported.

Andrew Metri Salloum, 31, was pulled over after driving through a red light on Blue Heron Boulevard. When the deputy took him to the breath alcohol testing center, Salloum allegedly offered him first $5,000 and then $7,000 for his freedom.

Salloum was booked at Palm Beach County Jail and charged with DUI, bribery of a public servant, refusing to submit a DUI test after a license suspension, resisting an officer without violence and refusing to sign a citation. He was released Monday evening on $5,000 bond.
