Man in a wheelchair crossing street hit and killed by car in Broward

A man using a wheelchair to cross a street in Pompano Beach was struck and killed by a car on Wednesday night.

Vincent Golden, 59, was struck on Northeast Second Street and 24th Avenue at about 9 p.m. He was in the middle of the block and stopped in a lane when he was struck by Haddi Sundseth, 19, of Pompano Beach. The driver of the Ford Focus remained at the scene and was not charged.

Paramedics took Golden to Broward Health North hospital, where he died.
