Man barricades himself in Hollywood motel room
An unarmed man was taken into custody by Hollywood police Wednesday afternoon after he barricaded himself in a Budget Inn at 800 N. Federal Hwy., according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4.
Glenn Shelton, the man arrested, was wanted for trafficking cocaine, burglary and grand theft, according to CBS4.
Nearby South Broward High School was locked down during the standoff and a portion of Federal Highway was closed to traffic, Hollywood police spokeswoman Meredith Elrich said.
By 4 p.m., South Broward High was dismissed and north and southbound lanes of Federal Highway were reopened.
