Brush fire in Broward County has burned 3,600 acres, officials say
A brush fire has burned 3,600 acres off of Interstate 75 in Broward County as of Friday morning, according to the Florida Forest Service.
The fire is burning near Mile Marker 40 and is 0% contained, according to the FFS Active Wildfire Points.
Last month, brush fires in Miami-Dade County burned over 22,000 acres, sending smoke, soot and ash into neighborhoods as panicked residents contemplated evacuating, with one trailer park community near Krome Avenue voluntary evacuating 200 people.
