Broward wildfire grows, and smoke is visible from the Sawgrass Expressway

A wildfire that sparked in the Everglades in Broward County has grown to almost 200 acres, the Florida Forest Service said Monday.

The fire, which started Sunday, is west of Tamarac, with billowing smoke visible from the Sawgrass Expressway, according to live Florida Department of Transportation traffic camera footage.

The Florida Forest Service said on its website Monday that the fire has grown to 180 acres with 0% containment. There are no reported road closings due to the fire, according to FDOT.
