Ft. Lauderdale police investigate hit-and-run that seriously injured pedestrian

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Fort Lauderdale early Wednesday morning.

At around 1:30 a.m., the Fort Lauderdale Police Department responded to a possible hit-and-run in the 400 block of East Sunrise Boulevard. The pedestrian was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with “life-threatening injuries” by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, police say.

The car that hit the pedestrian was found a short distance away but with no driver inside, police say. FLPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.
