An early morning Saturday shooting left a man dead near Goulds, deputies say.

Around 2:43 a.m., a ShotSpotter alert tipped off deputies that a shooting had occurred in the area of Southwest 217th Street and 120th Avenue, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.

Little is known so far, but deputies found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in his upper body. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital South in critical condition.

He died there.

The sheriff’s office homicide bureau is investigating.

This is a developing story.
