A police pursuit ended in a crash in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday morning and injured bystanders, authorities say.

Fort Lauderdale police officers tried to stop a driver “wanted out of Sunrise PD for multiple felony charges,” the agency said in an email to the Miami Herald.

But the driver, identified by Sunrise police as Thomas Jamaine Roberson, took off and crashed into a car on the 1100 block of Powerline Road, causing it to roll over. Roberson and the occupants of the other car were taken to Broward Health Medical Center with minor injuries.

Sunrise police say he’s charged with kidnapping, robbery-carjacking, aggravated battery of a pregnant female, obstructing justice, grand theft of a vehicle, criminal mischief, child neglect and interfering with custody of a minor.

No further details have been released.
