One dead after domestic shooting in Sunrise, police say

A domestic shooting in Sunrise left one person dead early Sunday morning, according to police.

Police say the shooting happened around 1 a.m. on the 6300 block of Northwest 11th Street.

“Two domestically related individuals had been involved in an alteraction,” Sunrise police said in a statement to the Miami Herald. The situation escalated when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

The investigation is ongoing. It is unclear if anyone has been detained or arrested.
