A Lauderhill child was injured Saturday night after a stray bullet went inside their home and shattered glass, police said.

Officers responded shortly after 7 p.m. to a shooting on the 2400 block of NW 55th Terrace, the Lauderhill Police Department said in a news release.

Police found a child inside a nearby home with non-life-threatening injuries who was transported to a local hospital.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the juvenile was inside the residence when the stray bullet entered the home and shattered glass, causing the injuries,” police said.

There are no suspects at this time, and the motive for the shooting is unknown, police said.
