Two people were rescued from a burning boat in the ocean off Hollywood Beach, firefighters said Monday afternoon.

The 35-foot boat caught fire about four miles from shore, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue.

Another boater had rescued the people on the burning vessel, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said. Those people were transferred to U.S. Coast Guard crews, the spokesperson said.

BSO Battalion Chief Michael Kane said no one was injured.

Along with Broward and Miami-Dade firefighters, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue also responded to the emergency, Kane said.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
