Police arrest man after shooting outside of Plantation vacation rental home
Officers arrested one man after a shooting Tuesday afternoon in front of a Plantation vacation rental home that started with an argument, police said.
Police say 26-year-old Trayvon Forrest fired a gun from a car at the house, located at 12000 NW Sixth St., around 4 p.m. Initial calls about the shooting indicated that shots were being fired between occupants of two cars.
But, police on Wednesday said it was only Forrest shooting, and the shots were directed at the people outside the house.
When officers arrived, most of the people in front of the house, who do not live there, ran off, police said. The people police did speak with have been uncooperative, “and therefore the motive for this shooting is unclear at this time,” police said in a statement.
The incident provoked a large response from Plantation police, with drones and tactical officers being called in, according to emergency radio calls heard by the Herald.
On Wednesday, Forrest was being held in Broward County jail with bond yet to be set by a judge on charges of firing a gun from a car and driving with a license that has been expired for more than six months.
