A man died after he crashed into a light pole early Tuesday morning in Hollywood and was ejected from his car, which had burst into flames, officials say.
Around 2:50 a.m., Hollywood Fire Rescue arrived to the scene of the fatal crash on northbound State Road 7, just south of Mayo Street. Firefighters found a car fully engulfed in flames. .
The driver of the car, whom authorities have not identified, was ejected and found near the car, fire rescue says.
Florida Power & Light was requested to assess the structural integrity of the damaged pole due to significant exposed rebar.
