Herald launches hyperlocal news sites in Pembroke Pines, Miramar and Coral Springs
Residents of Coral Springs, Miramar and Pembroke Pines now have new, dedicated sources for local news with the launch of three community-focused websites designed to inform, connect and empower citizens.
Starting Oct. 1, the Miami Herald will debut Coral Springs News, Miramar News and Pembroke Pines News, each committed to telling the stories that matter most to their city while providing solutions-oriented journalism that helps residents engage in their communities.
And all community coverage on these sites will be free to read, ensuring that everyone has access to vital information without a paywall.
In an era when many local newsrooms have closed or scaled back, these sites aim to fill the gap with reporting focused squarely on the cities they serve.
Coverage will spotlight local government decisions, new businesses, schools, events and the people who make each city unique. Reporting will also go beyond the problems to explore solutions and ideas that could improve everyday life for residents.
Each site will feature breaking news and daily newsletter updates, along with profiles of the people and organizations working to strengthen the community.
The launch of these three sites is part of the Miami Herald’s broader commitment to strengthen local journalism across Broward County by investing directly in neighborhood-level reporting.
Readers are invited to share tips, story ideas and feedback to help guide coverage in each city.
