Two found dead inside Pembroke Pines house, police say
Detectives are investigating the deaths of two people who were found dead inside a Pembroke Pines house Wednesday, and they are searching for the adult grandson of the homeowner.
Police were called to the house at the 1700 block of Northwest 109th Avenue around 4:40 p.m. after getting a 911 call that there was an unconcious and unresponsive man lying in the garage, the department said.
Officers found Octavis Anthony Myers dead, said Capt. Adam Feiner, a Pemproke Pines police spokesman. Police have not released Myers’ age.
The officers searched the rest of the house and found a woman’s body in the bedroom, Feiner said. Police have not released her name and age because her next of kin has not been notified, Feiner said.
Detectes are searching for 27-year-old Isaiah Collins, who is the grandson of the woman who owns the house and who has been know to live at the resicence, Feiner said.
Feiner stressed that Collins is not a suspect.
“It is unusual for the family to not hear from him for several days, and since the police department began our investigation yesterday, investigators have not been able to reach him,” Fiener told the Herald. “Knowing that Isaiah lives in the same house where two people were found dead, there is concern for his wellbeing.”
Detectives are asking anyone who might know where Collins is to call (954) 431-2200, email tips@ppines.com or call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-8477.
