2-year-old girl mauled by Rottweiler in Fort Lauderdale, fire officials say

A 2-year-old girl was hospitalized after she was mauled by a Rottweiler in Fort Lauderdale, according to fire rescue.

Shortly before 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to 911 calls reporting a dog bite at a home on the 1700 block of Southwest 24th Street. There, they found a 2-year-old girl who was attacked by a Rottweiler.

The girl has “numerous injuries” and was taken to the trauma center at Broward Health Medical Center, fire rescue said. The girl’s current condition wasn’t released as of Sunday afternoon. This report will be updated as more information becomes available
