Plane crash-lands in the Everglades. No reported injuries: officials

A plane that departed from North Perry Airport in Broward County crash-landed in the Everglades Tuesday morning, officials say.

Around 8:20 a.m., a Cessna 172 landed on a dirt road in the Everglades in western Broward County after reporting engine issues, according to an FAA spokesperson. There were two people onboard.

The plane, with an aircraft registration number of N1213F, appears to have departed from North Perry Airport according to FlightAware.com tracking information, said Arlene Satchell, North Perry Airport spokesperson.

Satchell added that there are no reported injuries.

FAA flight records show the plane is registered to Flight Answers LLC in Miami Lakes. Luis A. Alcala is the registered agent of the LLC.

This is not the first time a plan heading to or from North Perry Airport has crashed. Last month, Four people were injured after a small plane crashed into a Pembroke Pines neighborhood as it prepared to land at North Perry Airport.
