Driver rushed to hospital after car hits Brightline train, Broward deputies say

A car collided with a Brightline train Tuesday afternoon in Pompano Beach, sending a person to the hospital with serious injuries, according to deputies.

Around 3:50 p.m., the Broward Sheriff’s Office received the 911 call reporting the crash between the car and train near West Atlantic Boulevard and North Dixie Highway, authorities said.

Deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue attended to the driver of the car, who has not been identified and needed to be rushed to a hospital for their injuries.

The cause of the crash has not been determined as the investigation is still ongoing.
